2025 Legislative Access Agenda Unveiled

We are excited to unveil Disability Policy Consortium’s 2025 Legislative Access Agenda! Every legislative session, we pick a handful of priorities to advocate for in the budget and legislative process, based on what we hear is important to our community and where we know we can make an impact.

With a focus on affordable accessible housing, equitable access to health care, and timely wheelchair repairs, we’re fighting for a Commonwealth where people with disabilities can live safely and independently in their communities. We’re also working with our partners to pass other policy priorities, like supported decision-making for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, increased funding for the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH), and ending discrimination against parents with disabilities in custody cases.

Our Access Agenda isn’t fully comprehensive of all that we aim to accomplish this year. It doesn’t list some of our advocacy priorities that don’t have a bill or budget item attached to them, like our efforts to improve state house accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, or our work leading the Commissions on Disability Alliance (CODA), a statewide network of local Commissions on Disability. It also doesn’t preclude our support for other legislation and budget items that will advance the rights of people with disabilities, so reach out if you’re working on an issue we might be able to help with!

As we launch our major advocacy campaigns for this session, we know we can’t do it without the support of you all, our community and partners. Please consider contributing to the DPC to help us kickstart our Access Agenda. A donation of $10 goes a long way to getting these priorities over the finish line! And watch this space for opportunities to volunteer and have your voice heard!
