IHCD’s New England ADA Center is Looking for ADA Trainer, Information & Outreach Coordinator

Primary Function

ADA Trainer/Information and Outreach Coordinator will conduct trainings on all of the Titles of the ADA on behalf of the New England ADA Center. He or she will also provide ADA technical assistance, capacity building, outreach, and staff trade shows and conferences. A priority for this position will be to build extraordinary depth of knowledge and training skill that will result in being able to assume increasing responsibility in the Center’s training services.

Responsible to: New England ADA Center Project Director

Essential Functions

  • ADA Trainer is knowledgeable in all Titles (Title I Employment, Title II State and Local Government, and Title III Public Accommodations) of the ADA including the 1991 and 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, as well as Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and New England states’ comparable disability rights laws concerning housing, employment, public accommodations and architectural access.

  • Ability to learn and explain the International Building Code, the Fair Housing Amendments Act, and the Family Medical Leave Act.

  • Provide technical assistance on the ADA and related laws over the phone, by email and in person.

  • Trainer will provide general capacity building, outreach, and staff trade shows and conferences.

  • Assist IHCD staff on the development and delivery of trainings and technical assistance.

  • Assist with the development ADA products and tools such as: the updated Title II Action Guide and new Title III Action Guide.

  • Assist to organize trainings with Federal partners such as, U.S. Access Board and Department of Justice.

  • Collaborate with New England State Affiliates and travel to New England States for trainings, meetings and exhibits.

  • Collaborate with ADA National Network of Regional Centers.

  • Collaborate with ADA National Network Knowledge Translation Center and serve on committee

  • Will be required to travel by car throughout New England.
