Senate Vote Thursday on Wheelchair Repair!

As reported in the State House News, one of our priority bills, the Wheelchair Warranty Bill (now labeled S.2541), will be voted on by the Senate tomorrow, and we expect it to pass! This is an incredible step toward passing the bill and providing much needed protections for wheelchair users trying to get their equipment repaired in a timely manner. This fantastic result is directly due to the hard work of many organizations and members of the community, including 40 wheelchair users and allies who testified in the support of the bill last spring.

The Senate session will begin around 11:30am tomorrow, and we strongly encourage members of the community to come to the state house to witness the vote, show your support for the bill, and thank the Senate for moving this bill forward. Please join us afterward to thank Senators, and to get involved as we shift our attention to the House, whose support we need to take this bill to the finish line before the session ends in July.
